Experience life on board a real canal houseboat at the only Houseboat Museum in the world

Located on the Prinsengracht canal in Amsterdam's central district of Jordaanm the Houseboat Museum is housed inside the Hendrika Maria, a former cargo ship that was reconverted and built in 1914. Venture onboard and discover what life is like on board a houseboat and how the ship was converted into a comfortable living quaters. Explore authentic skipper's quarters, sleeping bunks, spacious living room, kitchen and bathrooms. 

The Hendrika Maria was formally used to transport sand, gravel and coal until the 1960s. After it was converted into a houseboat, it was used as a residence before becoming a living museum! Visitors can learn more with a guidebooklet, available in 20 languages.
