One of the most prominant families were Abraham Willet and his rich wife Sandrina Louisa Geertruyda Holthuysen, their lives are central to the museum. After the death of Sandrina she left the house and all its contents to the municipality of Amsterdam, with her wish to open up their house as a museum. With her wish granted, you can now come and view their extensive art collection and precious furniture that was once apart of their lavish lifestyle plus venture around all of their stunning 18th century rooms including the magical ballroom, the kitchen and the pantry.. you may even get lost in their vast french style garden.
